As agile working patterns increase and businesses have a mixture of staff working within the office and remotely it is getting more difficult to ensure that they are working correctly when it comes to the use of Display Screen Equipment.

As an employer regardless of where your employees are working you have a duty of care and responsibility under The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 as amended by the Health and Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2002 to protect your employees from the health risks associated with prolonged use of display screen equipment – commonly referred to as DSE. This encompasses equipment such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Monitoring and completing DSE Assessments across multiple locations as well as providing suitable training to all employees using DSE equipment and those undertaking the assessments involves considerable time and cost.
